Opticks for the Amiga
Opticks was released in 1989 as a two disk set. The first disk has all the primary programs for building 3D objects, editing attributes, building a 3D scene, rendering, and viewing. The second disk has a demo slideshow, maps, utility programs with some source code, and alternate compilations of Build and Render with the 68020 & 68881 options.
The programs were written by Brian Reed and published by Incognito Software. Many thanks to the original Incognito crew: Doug Brooks, Mike Rudas, Abe Hamade and the testers!
In 2020, with assistance and motivation I have it running again.
The 2020 renders used the WinUAE emulator with Kickstart ROM “KS ROM v1.3 (A500,A1000,A2000) rev 34.5 (256k) [315093-02]” and Workbench 1.3 (34.20). Opticks may or may not work with other Kickstart or Workbench versions.
